25 years ago, August 1st 1981, at the stroke of midnight, MTV was launched. The Buggles "Video Killed The Radio Star" heralded a new era of music promotion, with MTV at his helm. Early on, programming had to rely on the few artists who recorded videos, which was prodominantly British. Looking back, it was an awfullly 'white' mix... REO Speedwagon's album 'Hi-Infidelity' sure got a lot of promotion.
