It was the summer of 1967, fog loomed over San Francisco, and over 100,000 barefoot beatniks flocked to what was known as the hippie capitol of the world. While some of the counterculture's fantasies of peace, free love and harmony came true, other visions erupted in riots, drug overdoses and injuries. 40 years since this revolutionary movement, we've compiled a commemorative playlist of its most influential songs.
