Author's Comments
George Carlin was one of the most provacative and influential stand-up comedians of the 1970s. A master storyteller, Carlin mixed wordplay, social commentary and childhood memories in with a hipster persona. His material opened young minds even as his "Seven Words" routine was debated in the Supreme Court. In the '90s, Carlin's bits became darker, courser and bitter as he ranted about his loss of faith in his country and his fellow man.
