Plies

Plies splits his time barking death treats and purring pick-up lines. On "Spend the Night," he advertises to a prospective sexual relation that his neighbors are "real nice," while "Put It on Ya" imagines our roadways as sex playgrounds. The production's minimalist Southern electro puts the accent on Plies' slurring rap style, which is both intoxicated and intoxicating, and it also forces the listener to delve into the gory details of Plies' nihilistic worldview. On the rare occasion he loosens up and shoots for empathy ("Gotta Be," "2nd Chance"), the results are startling.
