Ram Dass

Born Richard Alpert, this LSD-gulping pal of Timothy Leary got kicked out of Harvard for his "experiments." After spending the '70s in the tutelage of a guru, the newly named Ram Dass came back and wrote books and recorded albums (like this one) meant to help people meditate. With spoken word passages and rhythmic musical backing, Chord of Love is very effective.
