A Christian version of Spice Girls, Raze specialize in high-gloss Dance Pop that's a lot smarter than one would expect from such pure confectioners. Originally from Oklahoma, the quartet got their initial record deal in England and as a result, their hyperproduced 1999 debut pops with an oh-so-Euro playfulness. Exploring issues of faith to a beat that doubles as a dance track for church socials all over the U.S. and the U.K., Raze come on like the real deal after disappointing saccharine-meisters All Saints' flaccid attempts at a Spice World takeover.
