It's nice to hear a modern singer from Jamaica bust a smooth falsetto rather than bark like Cookie Monster about narcotics, bikini babes and good times at the party. Of course, Spice doesn't add much to reggae's canon: Babylon is still falling and I 'n' I has got to unite. But that's not the point. The guy is all about pleasantly uplifting vibrations, perfect while sipping a Red Stripe at the Saturday afternoon music fest in the park. Bring the kids, even.
