When on October 12 liver cancer claimed the life of Dickie Peterson rock and roll lost one of its great innovators. As cofounder of the legendary power-trio Blue Cheer, the bassist has played a pivotal role in the development of heavy metal, punk, grunge, sludge and stoner rock. Rest in peace, Dickie.
