Description of Rapcore

Following early rap and metal crossovers from rappers like the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and Run-D.M.C. and metal acts like Aerosmith and Anthrax, Rapcore artists combine crushing metal riffs with energetic rapping. Rapcore bands usually use a standard rock band lineup with a drum kit and emphasize the low-end with funk basslines. As with rap, the lyrical content is polarized between the highly politicized (Rage Against the Machine, Body Count) and party music antics (Insane Clown Posse, Red Hot Chili Peppers).
