Bobby Charles R.I.P. (1938-2010)
Bobby Charles wasn't a household name, yet he was considered one of the Big Easy’s great songwriters. In addition to penning American pop classics such as “Walking to New Orleans” and the rock ’n’ roll standard “See You Later, Alligator,” Charles recorded one of the great swamp-pop albums in 1971. Though he was never one for the spotlight, Bobby Charles will be missed. See you later, alligator.
