Ronnie Boykins

Boykins' bass work is the leading point on this underrated album from 1975. Years of working with Sun Ra have left their imprint on the bassist; his material here walks the same stumbling, cosmic and yet tribal ground. The emphasis here is on rhythm although a trio of horn players makes each track memorable.
