This album started as a novelty project -- Shirley Bassey recorded Pink's "Get This Party Started" for a Marks and Spencer ad and it quickly became a minor cult hit. You can perhaps forgive the rush, then, to remix an album full of Bassey favorites; after all, the Dame needs to eat. The best remixers (NorthxNWest and Bugz in the Attic among them) step out of the way and let Bassey's incomparable voice shine, garnishing it with a hint of dub or strings but easing up on the club beats. The deliciously overblown, Bond-esque "The Living Tree" and "Where Is The Love" both hit paydirt.
