Silverstein

Silverstein has been at it long enough to find a good balance between the throaty barking or hardcore and the winsome melodies of punk-pop, producing this set of songs that affably showcases the band's split personality. Where that yields loads of dynamic explosions, Arrivals and Departures has few moments to catch your breath, keeping the accelerator pressed to the floor with relentless thrashers like "If You Could See My Soul" and the bombastic opener, "Sound Of The Sun." With its Nordic growling, "Love With Caution" is a highlight, as is the power ballad finisher, "True Romance."
