Silvio Rodriguez

One of Cuba's great songwriters, Rodriguez can't be summed up by a single greatest hits album -- but you can't blame them for trying. Even when thesong gets a little salsa treatment (as on "Causas y Azares"), it's really Rodriguez's show. "Playa Giron" and "Unicornio" are classics, showing off his subtlety and sense of pacing. "La Maza" is also wonderful.
