Smash Mouth

With a title and a sound that will keep fans warm through the winter, Smash Mouth's Summer Girl dishes up more spunky, jumpy pop-rock for the masses. Album number five finds party boy/rude boy Steven Harwell still snarling like a manic terrier, backed by a retro-modern mix of surf guitar, slapstick rhythms and the occasional organ. Exemplary lead single "Story of My Life" sounds like a mid-millennium mash-up of "Safety Dance" and "Love the One You're With." Really.
