Even though its huge chorus is catchy, the fact that it doesn't have the contribution of bassist Melissa Auf der Maur or, more importantly, the subtle talents of guitarist James Iha, leaves the first single from Zeitgeist without the enchanting chemistry of peak Smashing Pumpkins. Sure, there's plenty of Billy Corgan's affected bleat and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin's high-volume bash, but the void left by the departed members isn't easily filled with heaps of distorted guitar.
