Sparklehorse

Given that Good Morning Spider is a fairly sedate affair, it's odd that it opens with the paint-peeling guitar fuzz "Pig," which is easily Mark Linkous' most aggressive bit of writing. Draped in brilliantly bizarre production flourishes, the near-miss pop of "Sick of Goodbyes" and "Hey Joe" stand out from all the static, but there are plenty of lovely, quiet moments to savor.
