Supergrass

The band's third album (from 1999) may be their weakest, but it's still miles ahead of most British anglo-pop. "Jesus Came From Outer Space" and "Pumping On Your Stereo" are classic, jubilant Supergrass tracks, while some of the other tracks get by on warm organ sounds and AM radio pastiches.

Supergrass are one of the few English bands that actually sound like themselves rather than
a blurry Xerox of somebody who's selling more records. They're more of a fully digested
distillation of nearly all things Brit rock, from the Kinks to the Sex Pistols. Gaz Coombes,
