Why can I listen to only 30 seconds of a song?

Why do I get just a 30-second sample of a song?

Sometimes when you try to play, download, or transfer a track in Rhapsody, all you get is the option to play a Image30-second excerpt.

Some possible reasons why:

  • You are not signed in to your Rhapsody account. If you are not signed in, all tracks in the Music Guide display 30-second buttons , plus Buy MP3 buttons and the message "Currently you can hear 30-second samples of tracks. To hear more, sign in or subscribe for full-length access."

  • You are signed in to your Rhapsody-Free account, but you have used up all 25 song plays for the month.

  • The track is available only for purchase. If have signed in and still see only the 30-second and Buy buttons next to the track, it is not available for on-demand (streaming) playback. If you wish to hear the entire track, you must purchase and download it.

  • The track is only available for purchase as part of an album. These tracks will display Album Only in the Buy column of the Music Guide.

  • The content rights for the song have changed. Songs that you can use as a subscription download, or even just stream, may not be available at a later date if the artist or studio changes the rights. If this happens, affected tracks in My Library revert to 30-second samples or are grayed out as unavailable. These rights may be restored at a later date if the artist or studio allow them.
