Why am I unable to authorize my device in Rhapsody 4? Where is the Authorize Device option?
To
authorize your device in Rhapsody, you
generally follow these steps:
-
Open Rhapsody and sign in to your Rhapsody To Go, Rhapsody Premier, or Rhapsody Premier Plus account.
- Attach your device to your computer, and wait to see the device appear in
the Sources area.
- Right-click the device icon, and choose Authorize Device.

If you are missing the Authorize Device option, you can
troubleshoot it by trying these solutions, one at a time, until the problem is
fixed:
Solution 1: Upgrade to the latest build of Rhapsody.
Solution 2: Check the Device Dashboard.
When
you connect your device, you'll most likely see a yellow triangle appearing
next to your device in the Sources menu:

Solution 3: Try switching USB ports.
If you are still unable to find an Authorize Device option, try using a different USB port that you have not already used for a portable device. Disconnect your device in Rhapsody, unplug it from the computer by its USB cable, and try plugging it into a different USB port.
Solution 4: If your computer is running
Windows XP or Vista...
