How do I authorize my computer?

To use play unlimited streaming music or music you have downloaded to your computer but not purchased , you must authorize your computer. This allows it to communicate with Rhapsody and to accept Rhapsody content. Authorization takes place automatically when you download Rhapsody onto your computer.

To confirm your computer is authorized:

  1. From the Rhapsody menus, click My Account.

  2. If one of the choices is Deauthorize Computer, your computer is already authorized.

  3. If one of the choices is Authorize Computer, follow the steps below.

Although authorization is automatic, there may be times when you will need to authorize your computer by hand.

To authorize your computer:

1. Open and sign in to Rhapsody.
2. From the Rhapsody Menus, choose My Account > Manage My Account:
3. Sign in to your Rhapsody account:
4. Click the Authorizations link at the left. From this screen, authorize your computer. You can also tell from here how many authorizations you have left.

When would I authorize my computer?

- If you have previously deauthorized a computer, and now you wish to use it to play secure Rhapsody content again, you need to reauthorize it.
- If someone else has logged onto your computer and signed in to his or her Rhapsody account, the computer will be authorized under his account, and you may need to reauthorize.
- If you have performed any steps that affect your Windows Media DRM components or Helix DRM components, you may need to reauthorize your computer.
