Tahiti 80 has always been a stylistically sunny, upbeat group. Here, Tim Keegan, of the sadly unappreciated dream pop band Departure Lounge, helps the French lads update their creamy retro sound to the mid-1980s, a time when new wave acts were suddenly helping the masses bust out the disco and electro funk moves. Fosbury's tunes either rock harder than you think or they are starkly styled for the dance floor. Happy music made by happy people -- the hollowness is part of the appeal.
