Talulah Gosh

About

Talulah Gosh were a short lived English band (1985-88) who managed to set the standard for confectionary delights in Indie Rock, eliciting sugary hordes of embryonic Cuddlecore bands to drop their colorful stationary and pick up guitars. Urged on by a common love of the Pastels, '60s Girl Groups and Punk, Talulah Gosh had the awful luck of making childlike Jangle Pop deemed either too cute or something that, worse yet, didn't rock. The realization that you could make Punk Rock music and doll it up in Hello Kitty's clothing didn't fully hit the public until after Talulah Gosh's decision to fold in '88. Soon after, the former members became known as Heavenly and brought the music of Sarah Records to an eager and starry-eyed audience.
