Doug Sahm, Freddy Fender, Auggie Myers and Flaco Jimenez had only recently joined forces as the legendary Texas Tornados when this set was captured in 1990 for a TV special, and the quartet positively oozes the exuberance and absolute joy of playing together that makes their music so vital. Few musicians had the ability to bring the good vibes like Doug Sahm, and here, as he's having a blast with his old pals, you can't help but feel like you're watching a great show put on by one of your friends.
