The Bad Plus

The Bad Plus are a jazz trio in that they use standard weaponry -- piano, bass, drums -- and
appear in established temples such as New York's Village Vanguard. They are also bad to
the bone, hot players with hard-rock hearts: Their songbook bravado and grip of extreme
dynamics are vividly caught in the poleaxed cover of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
