The Beach Boys themselves give you their favorite songs, from surfer classics like "Catch a Wave" and "All Summer Long" to such intergalactic wonders as "Feel Flows" and "Surf's Up." While old fans and neophytes are gonna dive into this, 27 of these 28 songs only scratch the surface of the Beach Boys' singular pop brilliance. Their cover of "California Dreaming" is kind of pointless (and overproduced), though things get redeemed by the searing title track, which only the bitterest, deadest of hearts can claim not to like (and even then, they're just lying).
