The Byrds

Released in 1967 (the band had been together for two years and put out four albums), this collection captures the Byrds before they became scary longhaired cowboys. The combination of British Invasion pop smarts and traditional folk and the stellar ringing tone of Roger McGuinn's 12-string make these tracks some of the best-known (and best) songs of the mid-'60s.
