The Click Five

Even with new vocalist Kyle Patrick at the helm, little has changed in the Click Five's aptitude for crafting anthemic pop -- a fact proven by debut single "Jenny." But the sweet, deeply catchy hook of that tune wins only by a nose; a handful of others including "Happy Birthday" and "Headlight Disco" pull off a heady brew of Warp Tour punk-pop and '80s new wave with panache. Throw in a power ballad, "The Reason Why," and the effect isn't unlike the band's flawlessly disheveled coifs: perfectly tailored to win over the 15-20 year old alt. rock set -- perhaps a little too perfect.
