The Coral

They say the third time's the charm, but charming isn't a fitting description for the Coral's third album -- "dark" and "macabre" are more like it. Even so, the band wears its somberness well: "In the Morning" and the swirling, psychedelic "Come Home" rank among their finest.

The Coral are seven young Liverpudlians who debuted three years ago with a
shape-shifting album that ornamented Nuggets-indebted psychedelic folk with horns,
