The 1968 cult classic among freak folkies, Fugs fans and obscurest music kooks finally gets resurrected from vinyl obscurity. If the warbling opener "Bird Song" sounds familiar, you can thank the soundtrack to the 1969 film Easy Rider. The rest of the album is a loopy lysergic trip that tangles old roadhouse parlor piano with early country, folk and blues influences. The delightfully nightmarish "Werewolf" waxes a capella psychedelic a-la Aoxomoxoa-era Grateful Dead.
