If you truly want The Very Best of the Jam, get their complete box set or the two-disc Snap! overview. That said, this does the best job yet of boiling the Jam down to 21 singles, from the scathing punk "In the City" all the way through to "Beat Surrender," the band's liberating, Motown-influenced swan song. While there is no doubt that the Jam were a brilliant singles band, this should be used as a platform to discover their many brilliant album tracks and B-sides.
