These countrified indie pop artisans blew up on college radio in 1991 with the title track from their debut Native Sons. The years immediately following offered three full-length records on Sire, with the band eventually calling it quits after their 1994 release Full-Empty. These days, frontman Jeff Heiskell is back offering new songs, a new band, and the same catchy, radio-friendly pop ditties that drove the ladies nuts back then. Steady yourself for a wild ride of familiar, collegiate progressions, Heiskell's ambitious, handsomely unshaven vocals and safe, nicely distorted guitar work. Don't call it a comeback!
