The White Stripes who? The Kills deserve to be the prom king and queen of sneering garage rock dragged through a thick sludge of the blues. The more bored they sound, the more they mesmerize with their hard-to-pin chemistry and dirty sex appeal. If this is the mean side, bring on the pain.
