A confluence of the Breeders' Kelley Deal, Skid Row's Sebastian Bach, Smashing Pumpkins' Jimmy Chamberlin, and the Frogs' Jimmy Flemion led to the Last Hard Men. The project was brief but intense, spanning only a short part of 1997. In that time, the group recorded fourteen songs in four days, including a cover of Alice Cooper's "School's Out." Deal's clean vocals mix well with the heavy, polished rock the quartet drops like gemstones falling from an overloaded bag.
