About

The Latin Playboys were an art student's wet dream in the mid-1990s, when Los Lobos's David Hidalgo and Louie Perez released their side project's first album. Playing damaged, slanted roots rock shot through with unfinished ideas and technical trickery, the self-titled 1994 debut made for angular, unexpected listening -- and offered moments of surprising beauty. Dose followed five years later.
