The Persuasions

You're always looking for the transcendent moments when it comes to a cappella music, and the Persuasions give up more than most. But on On the Good Ship Lollipop, you have to contend with a mixed bag of material. The "Train Song Medley" nears sublime with its mix of both children's train songs and soul classics; on the other hand, "Shoo Fly," with its interminable skit, doesn't have nearly the charm it should. Still, the balance sheet comes up positive, particularly with a great "Teddy Bears' Picnic" and nursery rhyme medley included.
