The Pinker Tones

About

These two Barcelona-based hipsters are forging a career out of irreverence, making the most of their postmodern conglomeration of breakbeats, bossa nova, lounge and whatever else takes their fancy. Old school chums who had lost touch, Mister Furia and Professor Manso renewed their acquaintance in Barcelona in 2001. Within a few days, the musicians had agreed to collaborate on the score for the TV series Once Upon a Time in Europe. Merging Mister Furia's analog synths with Professor Manso's Mac wizardry, the score was a success, and it set off a creative frenzy for the duo, which had its first taste of pop success in 2003 with the release of The BCN Connection. Songs like "Viva La Juventud" and "Mais Pourquoi?" hit MTV play worldwide, and 2005's The Million Colour Revolution only confirmed the solid songwriting beneath their frothy pop. When they aren't crafting jet-setting sounds, the Pinker Tones throw themselves into composing for film, producing for fellow artists and remixing.
