The Tyde

This fine release completes the triptych (or rather the trident) of albums for ocean-obsessed surf rockers the Tyde. Husband and wife duo Darren and Ann Do Rademaker have lined up a solid quiver of notable players, including brother Brent Rademaker (Beachwood Sparks, Frausdots), Ric Menck (Velvet Crush), Conor Deasy (the Thrills) and Mickey Madden (Maroon 5). Darren Rademaker's voice coasts between vestiges of Lawrence Hayward of Felt fame and Tom Verlaine, but the songs here jingle, jangle, twang and feed back like a Beach Boys/Burrito Brothers hybrid enveloped in analogue synth spasms.
