The Who

While the Who's back catalog has been ruthlessly repacked too many times, this collection is the rare exception: an intelligent collection of most of their best moments. It features five tracks from their most beloved album, Who's Next, including "My Wife," which showcased the late John Entwhistle at his seditious best. The ambitious Quadrophenia is underrepresented, but they did include the anxious "5:15" and the tetchy "Real Me." The sped-up intro to "Substitute" is a classic, as is the anthemic "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere," which anticipated the best bits of Tommy.
