Los Angeles band the Wondermints take classic sounds from the '60s and early '70s and create airy, light-as-a-feather pop gems. Lush arrangements a la Phil Spector highlight the band's sumptuous, Beach Boys-esque harmonies. One of the Wondermints' strong points is their attention to "authentic" details -- there's no modernizing for today's listeners. In fact, the Wondermints have the sunny pop sound mastered so thoroughly, they toured as Brian Wilson's backing band in the late 1990s.
