Generally, the Wynona Riders have a loud Punk-Pop sound, but they're so much more. SKiP's vocals, drawn out and snotty, are reminiscent of the more powerful 1980s New Wave bands -- the bands that were still pretty much Punk, but definitely going in new directions. Fast, witty and a little offbeat, but still melodic and super catchy, their sound transcends easy compartmentalization. Just as they have this power, they also have a softer side, rooted in the sentimentalism of the Descendents. To mix things up even more, the band throws in a trumpet or abandons their typical sound for a pulsing, in-your-face Noise Rock attack. They manage to be eclectic and still catchy.
