It's rare when a grizzled-sounding country singer like Tim McGraw (who inflects a lot like '70s-era Bob Seger) can manage to get a Nashville producer to retain that grit in the studio. But 2004's Live Like You Were Dying sounds as warm as anything in a vintage vinyl record collection, overflowing with moving songs like the title track and the epic "Kill Myself."
