His long enlistment with DC Talk shaped Toby Mac into a keen pop stylist, which is especially evident on a ready-made Christian radio hit like "Made to Love." This record's forays into hip-hop can bring to mind a clean-livin' Justin Timberlake, and hard-grooving production helps "One World" become a buoyant unity anthem. There are times when the scratching turntable samples and half-stacks recall the dated rap/rock crossroads, but when he pulls it off, as on the chorus sing-along to "Suddenly," the genre-bending makes for some of the record's highlights.
