Whether they realize it or not, many people have heard Tony Coe: that's his suave tenor saxophone you hear in Return of the Pink Panther and on several other Henry Mancini soundtracks. The respected British reedman (he also plays clarinet and soprano sax) has played in all sorts of situations, but he is most often heard easing his way through relaxed, casually swinging standards and other tasteful mainstream fare.
