Tracey Thorn

Everything But the Girl's Tracey Thorn returns after a long absence for another set of very English, bittersweet songs that sink sharp barbs and deep regrets into luxurious, deceptively pretty surfaces. There are some electronica and dance cuts here, but jazzy/folk pop ballads have always been Thorn's bread and butter. So, while the high-class downtempo of "Falling Off a Log" works very well, tunes like the lovely "Hands Up to the Ceiling" show off Thorn's distinct talents.
