Uh Huh Her

Despite her relative inexperience, musician Leisha Hailey has proven to be a skilled thespian on The L Word. Even more surprising is that four years of the over-the-top Sapphic soap have apparently turned her into an incredibly graceful musician. Hailey and bassist/keyboardist Camila Grey have crafted a lovely, polished album that contains nary a whisper of the wry directness Hailey displays as The L Word's Alice Pieszecki or the baby-voiced cutesiness for which her old group, the Murmurs, were known. This is lush but intimate and moving without being overwrought.
