Vangelis

For all Vangelis' many dramatic cinematic moments that are so typified by the bold themes of "Chariots of Fire," the spare, haunting 1982 score to "Blade Runner" is his most captivating. Released in full some years after the film, the score uses long, graceful synth lines over a bed of synth strings for a deeply shadowed, soporific result. The clips of dialogue from the film make it all the more evocative.
