Description of Easy Pop

Easy Pop is a seashell on the sand of the Easy Listening beach comprised of two categorical styles -- light arrangements of pop hits, and Easy Listening rock/pop music. Many songs in this genre are performed instrumentally and employ miniature symphonic arrangements, often replete with strings, horns, marching drum choirs, and multi-layered vocal harmonies. Burt Bacharach, Ray Conniff, and Mitch Miller are among the performers who enjoyed great commercial success during Easy Pop's 1960s heyday. Arguably, it is music that's best enjoyed in the company of earthy wall art -- specifically, woven yarn and driftwood murals -- that comfortably hangs next to latch-hook rugs displaying Snoopy designs and/or rainbows.
