This aggressive debut by From Autumn To Ashes alumni Francis Mark and Rob Lauritsen is an astounding addition to the experimental landscape of metal and hardcore in 2008. The duo applies rock structures to its melodic hardcore arsenal and tops the whole thing off with fuzzy, dark guitars, tortured screams, gravely vox and contemplative lyrics. Explosive tracks like the catchy "We've Never Been Equal" and the venomous "Profit Over People," as well as pensive, slow-burning jams like "Fetus Flytrap" and "Wounded Paw," are full of surprise departures for those expecting another FATA release.
