Woody Herman

Who knows how he did it, but swing stalwart Woody Herman managed to keep a big band together in the midst of the 1970s, a decade that downed many a jazz legend. His hard-hitting band features Ray Barretto, Joe Beck, Jim Pugh and others on a smart mix of pop hits, post bop numbers and originals. Richard Evans and future piano star Alan Broadbent wrote the charts.
